Following is a description of the parameters associated with Sediment. Refer to the main River Coefficients page for information on other categories of coefficients. To save the changes made when closing this dialog, click OK. To ignore changes, click Cancel.

Initial Sediment Depth is the initial depth of sediment in the river bottom which is available for detachment (>=0 m)
Bed Diffusion Rate is the diffusion rate between the river bed sediment and the water column (normally 0.0002 m2/d)
Detachment Velocity Multiplier is the proportionality parameter between flow velocity and bottom sediment detachment (approximately 1.0E-6 in empirical units)
Detachment Velocity Exponent is the exponent of velocity in determining bottom sediment detachment (1.0 – 2.0, unitless)
Vegetation Factor is an empirical coefficient proportional to amount of sediment release due to lack of vegetation (>=0, unitless)
Bank Stablity Factor is an empirical coefficient proportional to amount of sediment release due to unstable stream banks (>=0, unitless)
Bed Particle Content is the relative amount of each sediment type in the river bottom sediment (0 – 100 percent). The sum of all the sediment types should be 100%.

When the Apply Changes To Selected Rivers button is checked, changes made to the coefficients of the river being edited will be made to all selected rivers. When the Apply Changes To All Rivers button is checked, changes made to the coefficients of the river being edited will be made to all rivers.
