Rivers

The watershed’s river system is divided into segments, which flow into each other from upstream to downstream (see Tributary Connections). The simulator simulates all catchments, upstream river segments, and upstream reservoir segments before simulating those downstream. Kinematic wave routing is used to calculate flow and change in storage; each river segment is modeled as a mixed reactor for water quality purposes. To edit river segment coefficients, double-click on a river segment on the Map when in Input Mode. To view time-series output of a river segment, double-click on a river segment on the Map when in Output Mode.

The river coefficients dialog, shown below, will appear when the user double-clicks on a river segment while in input mode.

By default, the physical parameters of the river segment will be displayed. The name of the river segment is shown in the caption of the dialog box. The image in the lower left corner is a copy of the map showing the river segment(s) being edited. When each tab is selected, a new group of coefficients appears.
