The Setup tab of the Manager Module (shown below) is for defining the inputs and outputs accessed through the other tabs of the Manager Module. All settings are saved so that one does not need to return to the Setup tab each time the Manager Module is used.
In the Map Features box of the Setup tab, one can choose to have reference information (county lines, irrigation district boundaries etc.), reservoirs, and catchments visible or invisible on the map behind the Manager Module. When leaving the Manager Module, all map features are made visible again.
The box under Parameters lists all the parameters simulated by WARMF. De-select parameters for which output is not needed. Flow and velocity must remain selected to use Gowdy Output.
Under Inputs are all the Managed Flows (reservoir releases, diversions, groundwater recharge) and Point Sources (including pumped groundwater irrigation) in the model. Select those key managed inputs which will be edited under the Input tab of the Manager Module.
Under Boundary Inflows is a list of locations where measured flow and water quality is used as an input to the model. WARMF simulates flow and water quality in all its river segments, but this can be replaced by measured flow if there is sufficient measured data. Using the boundary inflow option provides greater accuracy downstream but discards simulation results upstream of the boundary inflow point. Use of a boundary inflow also requires maintenance of additional measured flow (*.ORH) and water quality (*.ORC) files when running real-time simulations. To add a boundary inflow point, click on Select. The Manager Module dialog then collapses to expose the map. Click once on the river segment for which there is to be a boundary inflow point. Boundary inflow points are only allowed at locations for which there are measured flow and measured water quality files. Once a river has been selected, the Manager Module will automatically re-expand and the selected river segment will appear in the list of boundary inflows. To remove a boundary inflow, click on the name of the river in the list and then click Delete.
Time series output can be displayed for selected river segments within the Manager Module. To add a location for which output can be viewed, click on Select. The Manager Module collapses to expose the map. Click on any river segment to have its simulation output available in the Manager Module and the Manager Module re-expands with the newly selected river segment listed. It may be necessary to run a simulation before there is output to view for the selected river segment. To remove a river segment from the time series output list, click on the name of the river segment in the list and then click Delete.
Gowdy Output calculates the flow and loading from individual loading sources along a river reach. The reach is defined through the Setup tab by selecting the upstream and downstream ends of the reach. Click on Select in the upstream box to collapse the Manager Module and expose the map. Click once on a river segment to choose the upstream end of the Gowdy Output river reach and the Manager Module will re-expand with the selected river reach listed. Repeat the process for the downstream end of the Gowdy Output river reach. One of the two selected river segments must be upstream of the other for Gowdy Output to work.
